Ingredients

  • 1 ozLime Juice
    Freshly squeezed
  • 3 dashesAngostura Bitters
    Classic punch seasoning
  • 2 ozAged Rum
A flavorful aged rum carries the punch
    Substitute: Dark Jamaican rum
  • 3/4 ozDemerara Syrup
    2:1 demerara sugar to water
    Substitute: Simple syrup

Instructions

  1. Add rum, lime juice, demerara syrup, and bitters to a shaker with ice
  2. Shake hard until well chilled
  3. Strain over fresh ice in a rocks glass
  4. Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg and a lime wheel

Technique Notes

Strain over fresh ice, not the shaking ice. The ice you shook with is already spent and will thin the drink twice over.
