Instructions
- Add 2 oz Jägermeister, 1/2 oz fresh lime juice, and 1/4 oz simple syrup to copper mug filled with ice
- Add 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- Top with 4 oz spicy ginger beer
- Stir gently to combine
- Garnish with lime wheel
Technique Notes
Serve it genuinely cold. Jägermeister is syrupy at room temperature and only reads herbal once the mug is frosted, which is what the copper is for.
Why the Jäger Mule Works
Jägermeister is already a 56-botanical herbal liqueur — the ginger beer's spice extends Jäger's anise and licorice rather than competing with them, and lime cuts the syrupy weight. Angostura tightens the aromatics into something that drinks faster than its sweetness would suggest.
