Number of people

Ingredients

  • 1 ozSoda Water
    Optional, for more bubbles
  • 3.4 ozCrodino
One bottle, poured over a full glass of ice
    Substitute: Another non-alcoholic aperitivo

Instructions

  1. Fill a wine goblet with ice
  2. Pour in one bottle of Crodino
  3. Add a slice of fresh orange, and a splash of soda if you want more bubbles

Technique Notes

Fill the glass with ice before the bottle is opened. Crodino is sold in small bottles meant to be finished at once, and a warm pour into a half-iced glass is flat before you reach the bottom.

Why the Crodino Aperitivo Works

Crodino leans on bitter orange and herbs without any alcohol to carry them, so the ice is not optional: cold is the only thing standing between this and a soft drink. The orange slice is doing real work too, since the oil supplies an aroma the liquid alone does not have.
