Crodino Aperitivo
Italy's zero-proof aperitivo, poured the way the house says: goblet, ice, orange
Ingredients
- 1 ozSoda WaterOptional, for more bubbles
- 3.4 ozCrodinoOne bottle per serving, poured over a full glass of iceSubstitute: Another non-alcoholic aperitivo
Instructions
- Fill a wine goblet with ice
- Pour in one bottle of Crodino
- Add a slice of fresh orange, and a splash of soda for more bubbles
Technique Notes
Fill the glass with ice before the bottle is opened. Crodino is sold in small bottles meant to be finished at once, and a warm pour into a half-iced glass is flat by the last mouthful.
Why the Crodino Aperitivo Works
Crodino leans on bitter orange and herbs without any alcohol to carry them, so the ice is not optional: cold is the only thing standing between this and a soft drink. The orange slice is doing real work too, since the oil supplies an aroma the liquid alone does not have.
