Gin and ginger beer with fresh mint

Ingredients

  • 3/4 oz (22.2 ml) Fresh Lime Juice
    Fresh squeezed
  • 2 dashes (1.2 ml) Angostura Aromatic Bitters
    Optional finishing touch
  • 3 oz (88.7 ml) Ginger Beer
    Spicy ginger beer
  • 8-10 leaves Fresh Mint Leaves
    Muddle gently
  • 2 oz (59.1 ml) Gin
    London Dry gin
  • 1/2 oz (14.8 ml) Simple Syrup
    Light simple syrup

Instructions

  1. Add 8-10 fresh mint leaves and 1/2 oz simple syrup to shaker
  2. Gently muddle mint leaves to release oils

    Gentle press, don't destroy leaves

  3. Add 2 oz gin and 3/4 oz fresh lime juice
  4. Fill with ice and shake vigorously
  5. Double strain into copper mug or highball filled with ice

    Remove mint debris

  6. Top with 3 oz ginger beer
  7. Add 2 dashes Angostura bitters if using

    Optional finishing touch

  8. Garnish with mint sprig and lime wheel
