Dutch genever flip with whole egg and nutmeg

Ingredients

  • 2 dashes (1.2 ml) Angostura Aromatic Bitters
    Traditional aromatic spice
  • 1 whole (1.0 whole) Egg
    Fresh whole egg
  • 2 oz (59.1 ml) Dutch Genever
    Traditional Dutch juniper spirit (jonge or oude)
  • 1/2 oz (14.8 ml) Simple Syrup
    Rich simple syrup

Instructions

  1. Add 2 oz Dutch genever, 1/2 oz simple syrup, and 1 whole egg to shaker
  2. Add 2 dashes Angostura aromatic bitters
  3. Dry shake vigorously without ice

    Essential for emulsification

  4. Add ice and shake again vigorously
  5. Double strain into chilled small coupe glass

    Pre-chill glass

  6. Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg creating aromatic crown
