
Michelada
Mexican beer cocktail with lime, salt, hot sauce, and a dash of aromatic bitters
Ingredients
- 1 oz (29.6 ml) Fresh Lime JuiceFresh squeezed
- 2 dashes (1.2 ml) Angostura Aromatic BittersFor warming spice depth
- 12 oz (355 ml) Mexican LagerCrisp Mexican lager, well chilled
- 2 dashes (1.2 ml) Worcestershire SauceLea & Perrins preferred
- 4 dashes (2.5 ml) Hot SauceCholula or Valentina
- 1 tbsp (14.8 ml) Coarse SaltFor glass rim, mixed with lime zest
Instructions
- Rub cut lime around rim of pint glass and dip into a plate of coarse salt mixed with lime zest
Chill glass in freezer beforehand
- Fill glass with ice and add 1 oz fresh lime juice
- Add 2 dashes Worcestershire, 4 dashes hot sauce, and 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- Slowly pour in cold Mexican lager, stirring gently to incorporate without losing carbonation
Beer and glass should be ice-cold
- Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim
