Jerry Thomas-era classic template: spirit with maraschino, absinthe, and bitters
Ingredients
- 2 dashes (1.2 ml) Angostura Bitters bittersClassic aromatic bitters
- 1 tsp (4.9 ml) Maraschino Liqueur modifierLuxardo Maraschino
- 1 tsp (4.9 ml) Absinthe modifierQuality absinthe
- 2 oz (59.1 ml) Rye Whiskey spiritUse quality rye whiskey
Instructions
- Add 2 oz rye whiskey, 1 tsp maraschino liqueur, and 1 tsp absinthe to mixing glass
- Add 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- Fill with ice and stir until well chilled
- Strain over fresh ice in old fashioned glass
- Express lemon peel oils over drink and garnish
